Volunteers can drop by the Dog Adoption House any time between 11:30 and 5:00, Monday through Friday to meet some of our dogs and fill out forms. Unfortunately, due to high volume of traffic and number of adoptions,  we cannot accommodate volunteers on the weekends. For more information, email us at friendsoftheanimalsbr@gmail.com.

Under 18 years of age and want to volunteer? We have a place for you, but you will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Stop by The Adoption House and find your place in the rewarding world of animal rescue. Just drop by at 8476 Highland Rd. during our open hours.

Ways to Volunteer

While it is true that foster families for our dogs are the bedrock in the foundation upon which FOTA is built, there are many other volunteer opportunities for those who want to get involved:
  • Whenever The Adoption House is open, we need volunteers to bring dogs in and out of the play yards, and supervise them while they are here. Dogs need to be brushed, bathed, snuggled, and loved.
  • Being a high foot (and paw) traffic area, the floors of The Adoption House always need to be swept of to have a damp mop passed over them.
  • We do not have a washer or dryer, so we depend on volunteers to do our laundry.
  • We host offsite adoptions every weekend and can use an extra pair of hands to leash walk a dog, or greet the public and hand out FOTA information cards while there.
